The fibrous bands that create the dimples of cellulite are called septae. They are made from dense fibrous tissue that connects the skin to the deeper muscles. The Aveli™ device allows the doctor to identify and divide the septae leading to an immediate smoothing of the overlying skin.

Aveli™ can be performed under local anesthesia or with light sedation if the patient prefers. Most patients experience mild bruising and swelling but are able to return to normal activities within a few days. The result of this treatment is a smoothing of the skin, and it is permanent.
